Custom retreats, workshops, and nature experiences are created upon request.
Rolling Into Summer Retreat
This women’s only retreat included a mix of cycling, camaraderie, and coaching discussions centered on personal renewal and potential. We biked 11 miles each day, had a restorative yoga session, created outdoor adventure vision boards, and shared meals in a private guest house.
Outdoor Adventure Vision Board Workshops for REI
Vision boards help to create a visual representation of the things you’d like to attract to your life. In partnership with REI, I put a fresh spin on the New Year vision board trend by offering one that’s 100% focused on outdoor adventures.
Trail Best Practices Mission Trips (for Consulting Clients)
Best practice mission trips along the Great Allegheny Passage, C&O Canal Towpath, and Appalachian Trail showcase the best in hospitality and connecting trail-to-town.
The Nature of Our Work: Recognizing and Pushing through Fear
This session for the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania held at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort used the idea of wilderness as a metaphor for the unknown. The indoor/outdoor session explored the fears that law professionals and their clients experience and how to recognize and work with those fears.
Gremlins in the Woods: Identify and Work with your Inner Critic
These two-hour programs on identifying and working with our inner critics have been held in Frick Park – one outside under the tree canopy, and another in the Environmental Center’s Greer Living Room, a cozy space that overlooks the park’s Falls Ravine. The sessions were followed by a full moon hike hosted by the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
“What’s Your Spark?” Sessions for the Women’s Business Network and the REI Women’s Campout
In these sessions, participants considered what thing in their life they wanted to light a fire around and how to sustain that fire over time. All the while, they were improving their team-building and fire skills, learning to start a fire with nothing more than a fire striker and tinder and kindling gathered on site.
Sunset Supper on the Farm
In a year (2018) that marked five years in business and Amy’s Associate Certified Coach certification through the International Coaching Federation, this fall farm supper was hosted in appreciation of past and present coaching clients. The informal supper included a sunset view of Chestnut Ridge, trail-walking, s’mores, and “glamp” site tours.
Rebel Rebel Float Trip
Take a mash up of David Bowie tunes, craft spirits, kayaking, and Whiskey Rebellion history and you have Rebel Rebel Float Trip. I planned and hosted this themed paddle for the Mon River Towns Program. We provided a memorable, one-of-a-kind river experience that brought 18th Century history to life with a “David Bowie Twist.” Not only this, but a quarter of participants surveyed were first-time kayakers, and nearly 90 percent hadn’t previously been on the Monongahela River.
Hike Small with Cycle Forward
In celebration of Small Business Saturday, this hike through Frick Park and the Regent Square neighborhood included stops at local businesses. The hike discussion centered on ways to avoid over-the-top consumerism and to reclaim one’s holiday season. Small business stops included Madeleine Bakery & Bistro and 3 Rivers Outdoor Company.
Absorbed in the Task at Hand (mindfulness and single-tasking)
This workshop demonstrates that multitasking is ineffective and even dangerous. But the power of the session rests in the conversations around needed shifts in office culture and how we can reclaim our focus for better results.
